Ubud Balinese Cooking Class

Learning to Cook in Bali

Eager to eat amazing food and learn about the local culture? Then a cooking class is the perfect activity for you.

Ubud Balinese cooking class

You have to do a cooking class when visiting Bali. It’s an amazing way to learn about the culture, eat some delicious food, and connect with some of the locals.

I went to Ketut’s Cooking school run by a small family, and they were such lovely hosts. We learnt how to cook 6 different dishes, and all sat down to enjoy what we cooked at the end of the session.

Water and aprons are provided, along with dual or single working stations. Their English is also quite good, so feel free to ask questions about the recipes and learn as much as you can.

We cooked:

  • Sauce Kacang (Peanut sauce)
  • Bumbu Bali (Balinese spice paste)
  • Ayam Bumbu Bali ( Balinese Fried Chicken)
  • Sate Ayam Sauce Kacang (Chicken Sate with peanut sauce)
  • Pepes Ikan (Grilled Fish in Banana Leaf)
  • Mie Goreng (Fried Noodle)
