Uluwatu Temple

Visiting Uluwatu Temple

This beautiful cliff top Temple will have you reaching for your camera, and your sunglasses.

This temple situated on a beautiful cliff top is definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Although you can’t venture inside the temple itself, you can walk around the outside, and all the way along the cliff face to the most beautiful view spot. This is also a great place to be introduced to the islands cheeky monkey population!

Keep your sunglasses hidden, and all phones, cameras and water bottles zipped up in bags when around the monkeys, as from experience they will try and jump on you to steal anything they can! We were also advised not to look them directly in the eyes as this can be seen as a form of aggression. As tempting as it might be to get closer for a super cute pic, I’d recommend viewing them from a distance and zooming in!

If you’re not in the area, I would say there are other temples worth visiting that provide a much more cultural experience.
